i bought a new savage and can't get the brakes to work properly,if i undo the throttle linkage the brakes will lock up,but with the throttle hooked up it barely slows! Its like the servo isnt strong enough or something. HELP!!

Hey buddy, it'd really help if you could post a pic of your set-up. It could be a couple things like the trim setting on the TX, the brake linkage may need adjusted or the servo re-centered. Are you batteries charged or new? What radio are you using?

If you can throw a picture up here, that'll speed it up for you.

Hi,

Do you have access to a digi-cam? If so, please take pics so we can better help you.

EDIT: that's funny Mwrench...you posted while i was typing the same thing...

brake troubles

I've adjusted every trim ,linkage ect. ,bought truck new & with new batteries , I'm going to replace batteries again ,maybe batteries died fast?my nephew has same truck, it almost flips forward when brakes hit hard!

brake troubles

actually , if it was the batteries they were bad from the start, because I never had good brakes!!

Well, try the batteries and consider getting a rechargeable hump pack. Hump packs give you higher volts and longer life.

When you get a chance, post some pictures of your set-up because it'll help with ideas.

Good luck!

Also make sure the two screws that hold the pads on are adjusted , if they are too loose the pads will not bite hard enough. Witch Savage is it?

I could never get my stock savy brakes to work, I just went to my LHS and got the Dual Disk Brakes for the savy. worked 1000 times better

Thanks for all the suggestions, I tried them all. I'm going to get the dual brake set-up! I need all the help I can get ,to stop 3.6 hp!

You won't regret it! I have to be careful when I get on the breaks hard or it will flip.

When I changed out my T/B servo to a Ultra Torque, it was like night and day. My buggy STOPS now, before it hardly slowed down....
