help buying engine??

I'm having problems with my traxxas 3.3 and don't know what it could be.so I'm looking to most likely buy a new one.which comes to my question does anyone know where to buy used motors?preferably a 3.3.or help with my engine problem but I already have 2 threads started on it and not getting any replies.does anyone know atleast that if the pull start is harder to pull then somethings wrong?

If it starts for a few seconds then stalls and the motor is hard to turn over then your engine is flooded.

Lol is that really all it is?that's exacly what it does.and to think i was gonna buy a new engine over it.thanks for the help.how do I get it unflooded?

Take out the glow plug, turn the truck over and pull the pull start a few times. If fuel pours out you will know that it was flooded. Also try leaning the HSN a quarter turn.

Turn the HSN clockwise to lean it out.

I tried it a few times and still can't get it.its not flooded anymore but it won't start.it will fire but just won't start like its not getting enough fuel or something

The fuel line isn't pinched anywhere, is it?

Not that I can tell.my fuel line runs right off the tank and straight across to the carb so if it was pinched I should be able to see it.I'm just worried about something major being wrong with it.would it still fire and run for a second if it had major problems?

make sure you didnt lean it to much what fuel and plug are you using????

I'm running traxxas nitro 20% it.not sure about the glow plug.I bought it used and I'm using what came with it.ill try to turn it the other way see what that does

you might need a new plug because sometimes the plug will make it start but not hot enough anymore to run it.... alot of people say it will be the fuel but i have had good luck with traxxas fuel. make sure there is no air leaks in the lines and make sure it is tight to the muffler to for the presure to push the fuel.....

I've taken the plug out and put it on the glow plug starter or charger or whatever and it still glows red hot.but I am missing a bolt that hooks the muffler to the motor but I think it only had one on it when I bought it and it ran untill i rolled it

Well does anyone know what the average price for a 3.3 motor would run me from a hobby shop not off the internet or eBay

Tower hobbies shows traxxs 3.3 engine for around $140

thanks.a friend told me that you could take your old engine in and give to the hobby shop T9 get like half off the new one?anyone know if this is true?

I don't know about that just pick the phone up tomorrow make a call.Or check the traxxs web site and see if a program like that exists.Have a good easter.

if you trade your old one it is $110 for the new one with tax u should pay about 118. check with local hobby shop first because most of them that carry traxxas will do the swap right there. I have traded in a 2.5 and a 3.3 for new motors and spent 118 apiece....
