RC Driving Style
Hey guys, I just bought a new body (99 Silverado -style) from a friend, that came with an RTR RC10-GT truck - that is already cut and painted. Before I mount the body to my my RC10-GT tub chassis, can any of you give me some pointers as to where I could strenghthen this body (obviously from the underside) to make it more durable and resistent to cracking. Where are its weak points? Thanks ahead of time for your help.

this is a very odd question. usually you just use a body till your tired of looking at all of its "battle wounds"

SOme people actually use some fuel tubing and cut a slit down the middle and cover the edges near the P/S. Helps to prevent the P/S cord from fraying. Other than that it is all about driving skill.

if weight isn't an issue I found taking a brush and coating the inside w/ shoo goo and while it's wet rub it around w/ an Ice cube til it's smooth....keep the layer fairly thin to keep weight down.......as you break the body you'll see where you need to reinforce it fo rthe next one and just coat those areas on th enext one......I haven't done this in years but I used to do it to my RC10s like 20 years ago on th front part of the buggy.....I couldn't blow 25 bucks on a new body every other week then so they had to last a long time.....

smeer the enitre inside with Shoe goo. I did that with one of my lids on my maxx, and it worked awesome. I guess I didnt do the whole thing, just where ever the bends in the body were cuz thats where it seemed to crack most for me..

cover it in duc tape that stuff fixes everything.. if it does break cover the break in duc tape.. hell just make a duc tape body and your done..

I took a body and wrapped every inch inside and out w/ duct tape then crushed it all up...the duct tape keeps the shape of the body and it's very flexible....looks like crap but you know it's not gonna break on ya
