I'm trying to get the damn truck to start but it doesn't wanna turn over..
I charged the roto battery and still nothing. I took out the glow plug and put in roto to get all the gas out of it and still NOTHING JUST KEEPS ON JAMMING ..
Help plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

dont worry!! your piston is stuck at top dead center..it happens some times. its not a common thing, but happens.. there is a couple ways to fix it.. the easest is to just take the head off and slide the piston down. and just put the head back on.. you dont have to take the motor out or anything. should only take 2 minutes..

Nop.. i tried taking out the plug and getting all the gas out and still nothing

With my new Savage, the compression is still REALLY tight, so I have to loosen the glow plug and take it almost all the way out before one way bearing will catch. But when the glow plug is out it turns over fine. Sorry I couldn't offer more help, I think itsalifeworthliving is right about how to correct the problem.

Ill try the PISTON thing... Hey can i use that method after I'm done using the car and iwanna put it at bottom dead center so i just take off head and oush it down? that works?

The easiest way to put it a bottom dead center is to take out the glow plug and look down into the cylinder (with the head still on the engine, use a flashlight if you need). Use your finger or a screwdriver and rotate the flywheel (silver, located under carb on front of crankshaft) unil the piston gets to the bottom. After the rotate it a few times you will see when the piston is all the way down just before it begins to come up. You can then makr the flywheel with a sharpie and just put the flywheel where you marked it every time after that. I just look down in the cylinder each time because I pull the plug for after-run oil anway.

well, you dont have to go that far with getting the piston down to the bottom. when your doing your after un mantonance just slide the fly wheel one click past the compression stock. it will be pretty close to the bottom.. it is better for it to sitt at the bottom any way.. you dont want it to be stored in the compression stroke

HEy.
instead of taking of the head can i just push it down with a long thin screw driver?

Not wise to push on aluminum with hardened steel. Cut the tip off a cue tip so you don't get cotton fibers inside, and push it down with that.

Try This

for real, this works....

1. take out glow plug
2. move piston to bdc in cylinder (if REALLY stuck, you can't do this yet)
3. using a hair dryer on its hottest setting, or a heat gun, heat the inside of the engine
4. stop heating engine about 30 seconds AFTER you can turn over the engine with your fingers (and the glow plug out (obviously))
4. put glow plug back in
5. start engine- it will work

--- I actually had the same problem earlier today with my x ss. I called the nitro guru at my lhs, and he helped me over the phone. The problem is that the piston and sleeve are so tight (good thing) that it can't turn over when those components are cold. I take it you are not breaking it in (like me), but that makes this even more of an issue. I actually had crap under the piston (fuel and who knows what) as well as the "cold engine deal", so before the heat thing, take your glow plug out, and flip the truck upside-down WITH a CLEAN rag stuck LIGHTLY in the cooling head (this will reduce mess). Then turn the engine over, back and forth, to de-flood.

Hope this helps:)

HEy.

use the screwdriver but on the flywheel. You will score it but it will get it past TDC.To start it i would try little After Run Oil and cycle the engine with the Rotostarter for a second MAX. Then prime the engine by covering the exhaust tip and cycle the engine with the Rotostarter again till you see the fuel come close to the carb. Once there attach the Glow Ignitor and try starting it.
