hey guys just wondering what does it mean when you stop your nitro engine and people say make sure that it is at the piston is at the bottom of its stroke how do u know this and what does it mean? (bdc?)

It means that when you shut it off to move the fly wheel until the piston is at the bdc position. that is when the fly wheel gets easy to turn.the purpose of it is so when the engine cools the sleeve wont tighten on the piston. hope this helps.
 
Agreed 100%. The sleeve in your engine is tapered. Small at the top, wider at the bottom. The piston likes to stick at the top once in a while. As recently posted, turn your flywheel till its loose and easy to spin you'll be at bottom dead center.
