Greetings,

Just wanted to say hi to all and aska question. I have an OS .12 CV that is leaking some oily substance from the shaft causing it to run down the back side of the flywheel. I spray cleaned the entire engine (especially that area) and set it on paper towells and this stuff just keeps coming. The engine has no fuel in it and it seems to run fine.

Any ideas?

Could just be a leaking bearring. Try replacing the bearring with a quality sealed bearring and see what happens.

elburro - is the engine brand new, or have u had it for a while. Both my OS mills leaked oil from that very spot when i was breaking them in - but after about 10 tanks of fuel - it stopped, which makes me think it is a normal thing to happen while everything is setting into place.

This engine has probably 20 tanks through it. I thought it might be a sign that I need to either rebuild or buy a new engine.

You shouldn't even be close to a rebuild, unless you really screwed up for those 20 tanks.
