Ok, well I thought that my first rc car/truck ever should be a Revo(good and bad thinking). I recently bought a used 3.3 with lots of extra parts and a few mods. I really need help setting up the engine. I bought Morgan 20% fuel for it, have read the instructions on tuning, but would like some input from experienced users on tuning and how to tell by performance when I'm headed in the right direction with a needle. I have an on-board temp gauge in the mail to me to help as well.

ANY tips are greatly appreciated.

Not sure if you found this on the web or not. It's a pretty good thing to refer to for tuning theory. It will surely help you more than anything I could write here. I will say this, don't get frustrated if you're all over the map with initial tuning attempts. It takes some time to get good at tuning. This link will be a good place to start for you though. Apply this info to your tuning process and you should do well quickly.

Just for reference, I'd set the carb to factory settings before you start it up. Then you know where you are and how your tuning is impacting it.

TRX3.3 Factory Settings:
• Set the high-speed needle
to 4-turns out from closed.

• Set the low-speed needle
so the screw head is flush (even) with
the end of the slide.

When setting the low speed needle to factory settings, do you bring it flush with the inner or outer surface. There is that recessed portion. Is it flush with that or with the outer ring?

Thanks

Thanks guys, the engine tuning sticky is a nice resource.
