I know I posted this in the Intro section, but thought it appropriate to post it here also, since this is where I will be spending most of my forum time.
I am Donovan, nice to meet you all
I am not new to R/C , but new to 1/8 scale. Over the years I have taken up and withdrawn from the hobby of R/C. I have had mostly electric
1/10th scale buggies, including ones from Team Losi, Kyosho. All of my R/C time was spent bashing, no racing as of yet. I am sure that will change soon though.
As for as nitro, I have a 1/10 scale HPI Porsche .15 car, that has been sitting for about 3 years.
I now have the bug again and am about to throw down 2g's on a Mugen MBX5 ProSpec with all the accessories that come with nitro powered cars (Since the last time I stopped this hobby, I sold all my stuff)
I am buying everything I need from A Main Hobbies, radio, servos, engine, pipe, header, buggy, etc, etc, etc...
I am going with the Novarossi PX5 motor with the Novarossi 9886 pipe and long manifold. As far as the radio, I am going with the JR XS3 Pro with the Z8800T & Z8800S servos. Also getting the Mugen Pro starter box, and some other misc. stuff needed.
Any comments or suggestions on my new adventure is greatly appreciated. I am so looking forward to building this thing. For me that is half the fun, I love spending time on projects in my garage.
As for me, well I am 32 and an Accountant by day and a Flight Instructor in training at night. I fly the Cessna 172 and am currently working on my instrument rating.
I am married and have a 10 mth old baby.
Anyways, I just wanted to say hi to everybody and I have much to learn about 1/8 scale nitro buggies
