I'm lookin for an inexpensive but durable helicopter It is gonna be my first which is why I want an inexpensive one.

I bought an E-Sky Lama V3 for $89.99, Target carries the Air Hog brand for around $40.

Big question. How serious are you about flying a heli and how much do you want to spend?
If you want something simple and cheap to give you a fix, consider the Air Hog/Picco Z which is almost unbreakable. It's small and you can zip around indoors.
If you want something more real-like with a great chance of success for a beginner, consider a micro coaxial like the E-Sky Lama, the E-Flite Blade CX2 or the Heli-Max Axe EZ.
If you really want to dive in, you will probably want a collective bird. And there are many. Mini. Micro. 30-size. Electric. Nitro. All sorts. And they can range anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to a couple thousand. All depends on how serious you are.

BLADE CX2 if you want to learn to fly......outside .......if just chasing cats around the house the air hogs are fun...;)

true..i flew one at my lhs (they actually let me) very noob friendly.. i crash other things

I have a CP Pro and I fly a CX2 at work all the time. For beginners go with the CX2, it is well worth the money and you will get a lot out of it. It is a great flyer and teaches you the basics.

However see what you local hobby shop has, YOU WILL BREAK PARTS and if you have to order your parts online then wait for them to be shipped, you wont have any fun. my 2 cents.

i can vouch for the ordering the parts online... thats the wole reason for me getting a new rc truck

The Micro Helicopter I wrote about is fun and easy to fly for around $25.
It is far from a Helicopter though. Pretty much a slowmoving hover ventilator, but fun!
I suppose the first more serious helicopter would be a different one though :o)
