i got myself a heavy duty servo saver spring cuz i heard it was good to put on. (part # 5344X) and it says its for metal geared servos. i just want to make sure i dont damage my servos by installing this HD spring

Well I think if you hit something, or hit the wall while racing, land hard from a jump, that it could strip your servos if you're still running the stock servos. The servo saver is what absorbs the impact and keeps the servos from taking the force of the impact. The heavier spring is going to transfer more force to the servos, which could easily strip those plastic gears. If you're going to run it, you might want to buy a servo rebuild kit so that if something happend you can replace the servo gears.

I was wondering about that. I don't know if there is or not, I know for most stock servos there is, and Futaba makes the servos for traxxas, but I haven't looked for a set for the Revo.

I run a heavy duty servo spring also. When I put a JR servo in I blew it apart on my first race. I then bought a top end KO Propo servo and within one race I did the same thing. I assume it is either because of the heavier spring or because my end point adjustments on my radio are set wrong. I just ordered a steel gear to replace the plastic first gear in my KO servo but I am kind of afraid to run it cause I don't want to dameage the servo. The plastic one is there for a reason.

I would suggest staying with the plastic servo gear and standard spring. I will be saving my metal servo gear until I get better at driving and learn more about my radio system.

I have been running the heavy spring and JR 9100T and JR9000T on the other Revo with no troubles for 5-6 months now.I don't think I would use it with the stock servos but I believe my Platinum came with the heavy spring because the Servos are metal gear digital I think.I will need to check the info on the Platinum to make sure though.

i run the same with no problems, and trust me the front end has taken some nasty hits.
