Heat shrink tubing - heat gun neccesary?

I think it's cool! I'm gonna stick that in my lingo to confuse people. We're way off subject here, though. Using a lighter on heat shrink works, but you have to be careful, as stated above. I wasn't paying attention and melted an antenna tube once.
 
If you hold it away from the flame enough, just so its "Warming" your fingers and hand a bit, you'll be ok.

Metalhead, stick what in your lingo ????
 
As I stated over 4 years ago, I don't believe at all in using an open flame of any sort for heat shrink. I don't see using a stove to be at all a precise way of shrinking heat shrink, nor would I want to hold my nitro rig over my stove, over an open flame, as I melt heat shrink. If you don't have a heat gun a hair dryer will work too
