Heat shrink tubing - heat gun neccesary?

I usually use a match.

A candle works.
You can try a hair dryer set on high.

Cool, so any kind of small flame will work.

It will work, just be careful, its very easy to burn it or the wires.

i use a soldering iron

I use a little butane torch. It wasn't very expensive and it's handy for soldering also. any type of small flame will work but you have to be careful like NCNitro said cuz they well melt rather than shrink if they get too hot.

It doesn't take much to shrink it, or melt it.
Try doing a test first.
