Due to a pretty nasty wreck my header is now torn. It's the stock aluminum one, is there any way I can fix that without buying a new one?

save your self headache and buy a new one......for the 20 bucks it's not worth it to patch it up...probably get one REAL cheap on flea-bay

I patched one up with jb-weld, aluminum flashing and a hose clamp... I think I still have it somewhere. It was an XTM header from my 21 kit.

I had it that way for at least a year.

could you post a pic of it?

Took me awhile to find them... I haven't had the maxx for over a year.

Here's a pic of the damage:

Olds you can't post the pics w/ the bumper roll bar anymore...I own exclusive rights to that now.....I'll wait for my royalty check now thank you..... :D..............on th estock header I couldn't get JB to stick to it......maybe I didn't clean it enough, but it was a PITA......

busteds header is ripped.. about 280 300 deg around... ok picture this.. you get up in the morning to make some breakfast.. you open a can of bizkits.. and ...........stop right there.. look at the can.. yea kinda looks like that.. not that bad but close.. lol there gonna try to "weld it" wanna has some aluminum rods and a torch..lol :flamer:

wrap it in aluminum foil and aluminum foil tape, or some of that header tape high temp stuff, or BUY A NEW ONE best of luck either way

Well, the reason why I'm being so cheap about is because I'm planning on changing the engine soon.

I cornered the market on it! My savage is the same way...

Duct tape. nothing is more pure, simple, or a bigger sign of your ability to fix things.

quick easy fix ,
if it is still straight then use a exhaust coupler and slide over the tear and ziptie each end tight ,i think the jb weld will not hold i tried it on headers from my evader and it held for about 1/2 tank the broke again ,
but anyway try the coupler quick easy fix if it isnt tore in half
