Hey guys I'm havin a terrible time with my exhaust setup. At first i was breaking headers off at the motor end, then i was getting holes in the rubber coupler all the time. So i found this off brand which was pretty nice quality and i didnt notice any perf difference or sound difference but broke the header off also. What r u guys running and how can i get this to stop happening?http://www.ebay.com/itm/traxxas-rev...racter_Radio_Control_Toys&hash=item2ebe2381de

Use a spring attached header and a wing and your problem should be solved. I I use a ths pipe and header and have had no issues.

i found the traxxas header and flange, can u tell me what spring to get? Or a part number for it?Nevermind, i found it thanks. Now all i have to work out is how to stop getting pinholes in my coupler.

One more quick question, i also have had problems with the spur gear chewin holes through the air filter adaptor, i guess u would call it that. Any good replacements? Just wish there was a little more room in that area.

This generally mean your chassis is bent under the motor mount area. It is a horrible design and a very weak spot on the revo. I have been through 3 chassis in the past 2 gallons of bashing. The plus is that I can change a chassis in about 20mins now and they are only .99 on eBay.

Get the Ths setup and you won't have a couple to worry about. The Ths pipe and header can be had for about $50 on eBay and it give a decent performance boost over the stock resonator pipe.

It has been like that since new. It only hits it in a big wreck or something, not all the time. I wonder if theres a way to get the motor a little farther back?

The motorsaver necks will get you a little more room and also running a rear wing will help keep the engine from getting smacked around as much.

Get the black exhaust couplers they last longer than the blue for some reason

Any spring mount setup will hold up better, but a wing will offer good protection for any exhaust.
Try a smaller spur gear, and if you don't like the extra speed you can take one tooth off the clutch bell to compensate. I also like to sand the edge of my spurs just in case.

ok thanks a ton guys. I ordered the spring, header, and the black coupler. I will probably get the wing mount and wing next. Any suggestions on brands for those 2 items?

Dropping the spur gear made a huge difference for me as well glad you mentioned it because I forgot about it. I went from 15/40 which barely had any clearance for the neck at all down to 14/36 and i now have tons of clearance.

I like the tekno mount with a proline wing

ok thanks. What will the 14 36 do as far as performance? as like top end or bottom end difference from stock?

A bit more top end. If you have a 38t now it shouldn't be giving you trouble. Try rounding off the edges of the gear to keep it from cutting so easily.

ya, because its not so much the height of the spur, its the distance between the carb and the side of the spur.
