on my hpi firestorm I've been having a real tuff time tuning it. now I've noticed that when u goto turn it over fuel comes out where the head and glow plug seat into the engine. what kinda problem could this be?

Sounds like you are missing a shim or the head wasn't tighten in a star pattern.

i tightened in star pattern. all thats there is the plate the glow plug sits in then the head on top of that. and this has possibly been one of my problems from the start i just never noticed it now till i started looking for things

could the block warp from excess heat(highest ever gotten was 270)? mayb to much compression? bad seating of the glow plug plate? this thing is frustrating. any way to fix this?

motor has 3 shims which are in pretty good shape. if i take one out the piston will most likely hit the head right?

No, but it will raise your compression which will make it ignite the fuel/air mix to early in the stroke. Unless your running something with less that 20% nitro.

Just try wiping the contact areas down with DA and clean the shims, then re-install the head.

Is it leaking between the head and crank case or at the base of the glowplug itself?

its leaking where the plate that the glow plug sits in the engine at. i can also see fuel in the glow plug itself. is that normal?

In the glow plug as in when you remove the glow plug and look at the coil? Might be a little rich if you plug is really oily, but it could be related to your other problem. You say the shims are pretty good but are they smooth and completely flat or do they look like they may have been pinched when you tightened the head down? Also can you see any signs on them where the leak is?

its leaking around the entire plate. when u use the roto start u can fluid coming out from all sides of it. not in the coil like looking at it from the top where u would start it at theres fluid there. the top one looks to have some dings in it from where dirt or something got on it.
