I've finally narrowed my decision to but a 1/8 buggy down to 2 buggys:The HB Lightning or the Kyosho mp 7.5 sports and I already know that the HB comes without electrics. My hobby shop carries Kyosho parts and says it would be no problem for them to get HB parts. So which one do you guys recommend?

If u would've said the Kanaii I would chose it instead. But the sports is not all that great. Go with the HB.:stupid:

Would you guys happen to know what Upgrades should I make to the HB since I want to race?

Novarossi or RB engine. Don't even start the kit engine and sell it on Ebay as new for $100ish. My HB has been very competitive at my local track with an OS V01B, some TQ's, some wins, some seconds, worst was a third. FM radio, 358 steering, 257 throttle, 5 cell hump pack, kit tires, old beatup white Kyosho MP6 International wing LOL. (not a big fan of yellow):thumbdown

I've heard that the diff gears should be replaced with some mp 7.5 ones if your going to run a mill with alot of rip..as the stock lightning diff gears dont hold up to much more than the .21 BB puts out. i think you can buy inferno 7.5 diff gear set for 6-8$, youll need 3 sets in all. I'm thinkin about getting a lightning pro for my racer buggy, seems like alot of bang for the buck.

I raced mine with an OS V01B and 30% nitro with no problems. About 6 weekends in all.

i have a picco 26 in my hb pro.. original diffs are not a issue yet... so run them till you break them is my opinion...

else get a kyosho 7.5 it can be upgradded alot easier than the sport model..

thats good to hear...but at 20$ or so dollars to upgrade no big deal. i belive it was robh of these forums that i read had to uprade with his hyper 8 port, and that he knew few others that also had to. peace--

i have the hb pro and it is the toughest buggy i have seen. go with that so u wont be breakng as many parts but get new tires they will wear out in a less than a gallon of gas (running on street)

Stay Away from anything with the name "SPORT".

But, the standard 7.5 or the Kanai are both winners.
