Is it normall to have to have it idling so high you have to hold the brake? If i try to idle it down it dies, so i have to idle it high and hold the brake. This is becoming a pain in the azzz. And when i slam the throttle at a dead stop it hesitates and dies sometimes. I can tune a 6 second 200 mph drag car but i can't tune this. This thing is starting to get on my last nerve, but i'm gonna try to stick with it. I gave up on my last car, with the 2.5 motor rustler. Then i got talked in to getting this thing.

Once you get it running and warmed up, run a couple quick passes, what does it do when you pinch the fuel line? Pinch it about 2 inches from the carb and pay attention to what the engine does.

If it revs up quick and dies quick (less than 2-3 seconds), your lean on the LSN. If it takes a while, revs, then dies (total process more than 6 seconds), then it's too rich. If it mildly revs a bit and dies between 4-6 seconds, your close to a decent LSN tune.

Normally, a high idle that frequently stalls is too lean... I think.

I know reading sucks... but this may help:

Or/and this:

Both have helped me get a better grasp on the LSN and idle.

Thanks for those links Olds, I always enjoy quality reading such as that. There's a lot of crap to sift through to find a lil bit of good stuff, so a shortcut like that is always nice.

Boeing, just remember with a 200mph drag car with all that horsepower the tuning can be a little bit more forgiving than tuning a 3hp engine :) the slightest degree off on the tune can be crucial for a small engine :) plus with fuel injection, larger air filters, ram-air, superchargers and all those goodies we drool over were created just to make things a little easier for us at higher horsepower. when you tune your RC think of it more along the lines of tuning a smaller, much more tempermental, diesel engine

take it to your local hobby store and ask for help they do this for a living .. once they get it lined out for you. dont mess with it just drive it ... trust me Randys hs did mine and its perfect... good luck and have fun.. oh and by the way just remember it only a toy!! and there maybe some imperfections
