Cold outside is a problem. Are you covering the head with something? You really need to cover the head so the engine can run rich and warm. Most 3.3 engines need to be set at 5 or more turns out (hsn) to perform well in the cold.

with my 2.5 I'm running 5 and and half turns, and i keep my head wrapped in foil. of course i live in Mn so if i want to play i gotta re-tune just about everyday based on the temps!:D

No. I hadn't covered the head. I only covered it whilst running it in. My temps (via a temp gun was between 250-260 like I say. Do you think I've achieved this by being too lean then? But when richening it wouldn't run very well and wouldn't change to second.

My HSN is set at 6 turns out.

I don't think I can alter any settings to read from specific materials. It's an HPI gauge.

Well I'd say if it's as rich as possible without running like poo then you're ok. It's still good to wrap the head in the cold though. Where are you pointing the temp gun when you take temps?

Just to add for reference. Traxxas and Traxxas UK have both confirmed that my EZ Start shouldn't be outputting more than 2V. So I am being sent another one. Let's see how that goes.

Still thinking of buying a separate igniter though too.

Try Geting pull starter I must say the e start is more trubul than its worth I got rid of mine
As after 3 weeks had same problem and try re-tuning the engine and use glow starter

For me though the EZ Starter is one of the reasons I opted for a Traxxas model.

Thanks for the help guys. I changed the glo plugs and still nothing, made sure it was getting fuel etc... So I just picked up a used Jato and I went ahead and tried to use the EZ start that it came with and it started after 3 or 4 seconds. Weird, I guess it was the EZ start all along? thanks again guys for all the help!!!!

Have you tried taking a hair dryer or a heat gun and heating the engine up? I was helping a guy break in his Slayer Pro at my LHS and we had to use a heat gun to get it running. This was on a brand new engine so it's expected to be real tight, how old is your T-Maxx?

dude i'm from frankfort, i bought a T-maxx 3.3 yesterday from lexington hobbytown and can't get it to start either!!!!!!!!!!
