I decided that I would make sure that the LSN and HSN were indeed set to factory. Because during break in it wasn't putting out very much smoke and was getting pretty hot but not sure how hot... So my problem lies in the LSN, when I got it the needle was a 1/2 turn past flush. I need to know is fully closed when the MSN starts to move a bit from the LSN hitting it?? Please can someone help.....

I'm pretty sure this is how it goes, if the throttle opening is fully closed and the MSN needle is set at flush, fully closed LSN will just barely touch the MSN. Then the LSN should be backed out the requisite number of turns per the instructions. The HSN is fully closed when it just barely touches bottom.

If you think that it's running hot and isn't putting out the smoke, take the HSN out and carefully remove the HSN housing and fuel nipple and check to see if there;s some flakes of rubber gasket cloging the fuel intake and HSN (thus making it run lean). Most of the time the factory assembles the needles relatively "dry" and unlubed. What happens is that the O-ring gets guilitined and the shavings end up cloging the needle. Be careful not to mess up the gaskets under the intake nipple and the O-rings on the needles.

i seemed to had the same problem with mine and i finally took it to the hobby shop and contacted hpi they sent the hobby shop a new carb and then the hobby shop tuned it and it runs great now
i have still had a lot of other problems though such as ,,wheels stripped out ,pull cord came out twice so now i have a roto start and it works great also the factory shocks are pretty weak
so i upgraded them also i extended my fuel line and now on those extreme roll overs i can turn it back over and keep driving
without having to try to get it started again

Actually the stock shocks are pretty tough. I wasted a set of hot bodies threaded aluminum shocks bashing, where the stockers would have survived. I have replaces the oil with a heavier wt, and have stacked some touring car springs on top of the stock springs and this setup works great for me.

As for the carb, I have worked on alot of engines in my time, and I guess I'm not too hesitant about taking one apart, sometimes just to see how it's made. I'm glad HPI got you fixed up, but there was probably just some junk goobering around in the HSN/fuel inlet area. That's what happened to my new 21BB, but I caught it before I started the break in process.
