I can't tell if its shifting or not. I installed the 2 speed according to the intructions with the kit. Before testing I also removed the carb restrictor. I am testing the car on the street and have about a 200 foot straight area. The car is extremely fast. It seems to have about the same power on take-off as before (with the single speed), but seems to go much faster. I could not hear it shift into 2nd gear at all. I did some reading and some people suggested the tranny might be stuck in second. To make sure it wasn't I turned the adjustment screws all the way in (tight) and ran the car. That should have given me a basis to judge what first gear could do. Then I adjusted the screws out to 2-1/2 turns (factory starting point was 3-3-1/2 I think) and tested the car. I still saw no increase in speed so I continued to loosen screws 1/4 turn each run, untill I was out about 4-1/2 turns. I could not hear the car shift at all. Should there be a pronounced shift like when my T-Maxx shifts? Or is it not that noticeable? Any suggestions? I dont mind starting over if it would help. Thanks.

Well, if its stuck in shift is it just making the same sound? When it shifts, it sorta it sounds like it peaks, then it drops and is in second..

Well I just got the ntc3 team kit and I hope to help you out but my brothers ntc3 team kit hauls some seriuos bootay. well anyways his doesn't really have a distinctive sound but I can hear it .It is really suttle. they made it that way because they opted for smoother shifting.

bash - what u have described sounds like u are stuck in second gear. the 2 speed tranny is very fickle. only a 1/2 turn will make the difference of staying in first, or starting in second. return the settings back to the fact spec in your instructions, then begin to tighten them 1/16th of a turn at a time - make sure u do both sides at the same time. the car will shoft easier under only about 60% throttle instead of gunning it. it will also be easier to hear it shift. when testing, dont use full throttle, it will make it much easier.

I am going to have to try this after I am done breaking in my engine.
