Well I was driving my revo just now and it was running awesome! I had it running for about 5 mins and the truck was performing normal and then boom! My engine got obnoxiously loud and I was like WTF? So i stopped it and somehow the header had broke in half! It split right at the part which connects to the engine! So I turned it off and looked and i wanted to know how this could've happened? I just covered it with a clean rag to keep big particles out of it so later ill go get a new one from my LHS but I want to know if this ever happened to one of you guys? HAHA:hehe:

Yep. Happened 4 times and then I got an OS18TM that came with a nice non-cast header, then I never broke another. At $23 a piece... I spent almost $100 just on stupid headers!

I'd suggest at least getting the traxxas spring mount version instead. That way it can wiggle a bit instead of snap off.

yea i think ill do that when I go to my lhs if they have one. if not ill get it from amain. but i really want to know how it happened! but i liked the sound like how it got really loud but i shut it off immediately!

Bottom line, too much vibration for a bolt on header. That's why the 1/8th scale market use a big rubber gasket, not an o-ring. A spring instead of bolts to let it flex.... instead of cracking.
Buya THS pipe set and never look back. it will last 10X longer than the rest of the truck.

+1 on that Scrogg!. I have the THS and love it. Lots of power, looks good and not too expensive either. Great basher pipe for sure.

I also had this problem. I went to the spring mount and still no more problems!

I broke a few as well before I went to the spring mount, been backflipping ever since without a problem:D

I've been looking at the ths racing pipe and didn't know how good it was, but if I get one pretty soon which I probably will, i want the hard coated one! How much power and low or high end does it help?

As far as "I" can tell the THS helps across the entire power band. There are better pipes out there for sure but for the money and ease of install ect.. you just can't beat the THS pipes for the Revo and T-Maxx. Oh yeah...they are also pretty loud too. Nice angry crackly sound.
