thats a roadrage mounted on outback wheels 40 series with a savage-central adapter to fit it.. notice how much more offset it is compaired to the Big Joe in the back.. if that wheel had Joes on it, which the tire is even wider than the road rage, i think it would look 100% better than those goofy things..

well i have big joes are there any probs with them and if not were can ifind them not ebay? what is a savage central adapter?

i dont like the looks of that, it seems like it may cause a little extra abuse to the wheel on big jumps... but what do i know ?

I love my big joes.. the savage-central adapters are to fit the outback weld wheels to the savage, 40 series and look like this

the above pic is of a velocity wheel vs the outback one on the savage for offset.. rember the BIG joes has a good 1/4" lip at the rim to make it wider..

NOTE the road rage tires are much smaller than the big joes also...

Man that VW body is hott!!! Whats the specs on it? I just might have to try that one out.:D

so what are you trying to saY? i should use these instead of the wide hubs and does anyone know anything about the extended chassis? will it slow down the flip over when giving it gas? and does your body post still line up the same or do you have to drill new holes in the body?

info on the body is here...
https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4138

and i guess what i am trying to say is.. the ebay thinggys put extra load right on the threaded part of teh axel, which is a weak link due to threads being cut into it, with teh use of the adapters, a set of outback weld 40 series wheels you will gain all the offset in teh world, and the wealk link is still the wheel vs the driveshaft. you also do need to worry abt the shaft thinggy comming loose where it goes onto the savage and the wheel falling off...

i hav enot run the wheels yet.. still need 2 more tires, LHS only had 2 in stock, it will be wed before i have the other 2 to try them out.. then ill see how stable it really is...

also on extended tvps.. yes the rear mount has to be moved as in body holes... the rear shock tower is that much further back... yes it helps on wheelies, new era ones require purchase of a new drive shaft, HB ones comes with a shaft..

From an engineering standpoint, the product you asked about on eBay is a bad idea. Yes it will give you extra width. Yes it might look nice. But in reality it creates a nice focus for potential shear stress right at the point where the axle exits the hub.

If you catch some major air with that set up, you will most likely bend that thing and then you will have a wobbly truck.

I suggest sticking with the axles (CVDs) you have. Get a set of wide offset rims and run them instead. You will get your extra width and the stress will be distributed appropriately.

The hubs that CRSMP5 look like a great idea.

thanks sky... it looks very good, cannot wait to get the last 2 tires so i can test them out....

stable maxxes are also great, have a set of them too, stock tires, line up with my big joes the outback welds make it even more wide

also note... the adapter is in the same stock position, the wheel is like a maxx traxx wheel wuth added offset

crsmp5 heve you got your tires yet i'm thinking about trying the hubs (pics)

any one have theses if so give me the scoop
