Thanx... The AE's don't have a diapragm
(that little rubber gasket thngy???) on KK's shocks they were built with it facing in (remember this from when I had to take apart the one shock)

AE shocks do come with a diaphragm (at least mine did).

Fast Eddy please amplify the information about this "missing" diaphragm.

As for bleeding the shocks, I follow the procedure that came with the AE shocks for bleeding them, and I have had no problems with them.

Seems I am in the minority when it comes to using AE shocks. Sooo, don't take my word as gospel; it is after all just my opinion based on my personal experience with them. I like them and would buy them again (excepting the fact that I am aiming for a set of Progressive Shocks down the road).

This is the set I bought way back in April of last year. They came as a kit (I had to assemble them). I also had to buy the set of aluminum caps separate. It came with a black rubber diaphragm that went into the cap. I used the stock bottom shock spring retainers in place of the AE bottom retainers and the stock top spring retainers with the AE top retainers to hold the wider diameter Trinity springs (the stock AE springs are both narrow and weak).

All told I spent about $100 bucks for shocks, caps, and springs.

The diaphragms looked like this, only they were black:

When it was time to rebuild my shocks, I bought a rebuild kit that included them in order to replace the ones I had. I was told that that was something you should do as a matter of course.
