So we had issue with our traxxas 4tecs last year. I started looking into the upgraded stock system (TSM) bluetooth enabled radio and all. This is after I spent money on the Flysky Noble and Noble plus. The updated Traxxas system has a gyro, I see now Flysky has an updated receiver with gyro ( INr4-GYB) its $50 vs $150. I've gone back thru the diffs and changed that and upgraded the spindle carriers and c blocks so I'm good there. Cars were still all over the track. Servos are changed to some chinese high torque metal gear low profile. Are the new receivers something to look into which would be the cheapest route. These cars are close to being sold. Other specs are traxxas lipos and xl5/bl2s systems. Any advise would sure help, admin if this is the wrong spot please move .

FWIW, the stability system in my FS GT5 worked great. Still, I quickly outgrew it.

Why exactly do you need a gyro? A good setup and some practice is more fun. Actually, better tires could be the best first step.

It’s a spec class, cannot change tires, all links for adjustment at fixed, the cars have very poor traction characteristics, at the same time I’m changing the traction compound I’m using as well, just trying to get an idea is all if it may help

Is a gyro allowed in the rules? Or if it says open Rx/tx, maybe?

Adding on to the traction compound, going with something more aggressive might help. Or try doing burnouts to heat them up, or tire warmers, if allowed.

Usually from my experience box stock classes are usually no gyros. Even with competition classes.

Also, you racing on asphalt or carpet?

I don't have much experience in onroad besides trying to fix a tt02 in my alley. Although I race 10th scale offroad (carpet/clay)

We are allowed to change tx/rx and servos so you know… they don’t inspect and it has a cover over the receiver mount…..

I suspect that would be wildly illegal but whatever 😂
Anyway I'm pretty sure a gyro receiver for your Noble would work well. You can try turning it down incrementally to get rid of it in the end.

Have you tried changing anything you can change? See if there's something you've missed. Also, it took me years to learn to drive around a track properly and I still suck, LOL.

if you look up the traxxas tsm, its like a traction control module, that also alters steering, which i believe is allowed.... difference?

Which application would you use a gyro for in your cars? I use Spektrum AVC with my DX6C and i love having it on my on road cars like my XO-1, Felony and my Vendetta they handle awesome with it. Which is why i primarily use Spektrum radios and receivers nowadays and they come with most of Horizon's cars. They're also very reliable in my experience and that iXSR is my dream transmitter. But you can get a Flysky GT5 or a Noble NB4+ and you can get gyro receivers for them. Just my input on the topic.

we have 2 flysky noble's and just found out about the receiver...... which raised the question about legality and if its the same idea as the traxxas tsm

I don't think gyros are allowed in competitive RC racing. I think TSM is different but different than the SVC (Noble NB4+'s gyro system) or my Spektrum's AVC i think it has adjustable throttle and steering gain as well as adjustable priority like my Spektrum's AVC. But you do need the INR4-GYB receiver to use the SVC like how my Spektrum needs the SR6100AT, SR6110AT and the SR6200A to use AVC. Hope this helps you.
