i own a tmaxx wirh rc solutions cage and towers with am shocks Aluminum chassis under covers and all. Worth probably 650. i want to start over new but others tell me to keep it for parts what should i do? but i really want to buy one and break it in myself... any info or prices of somewhere to buy a new tmaxx if i keep the one i have
Thanks Patrick

If I was dead set on getting a new one, I'd keep it for parts and swap over the cage, shocks and anything else that's an upgrade to the stock parts. What do you mean by 'break it in yourself', you talking about the motor or the whole rig?

like everything but thens theres a money problem. See i wanna keep some of the hop ups but then if i kept them then i wouldnt be able to get as much... Info?

I'd keep the truck you have, it's probably worth what you said, but you might not get that dollar figure for it if you try to sell it. If you buy a new one you'll end up spending more than that trying to get it to the point this one is at (upgrade wise).
You could also keep the cage, buy stock replacements for the upgrades you have and then sell it, but I still think you'd lose money on the deal.... after you buy a brand new one. IMO

If you really want to get a nother Maxx. the new 3.3 maxx seems like they really added some good upgrades.

I'd say just swap motors too. your going to be putting in more money getting a new truck than just swaping motors and keeping the upgrades you got.

The cage you have and the new 3.3 tmaxx wont work together because the cage is not for an extended chassis like the new 3.3 has, just to let you know. I'd probally keep the maxx you have and put a 3.3 in it, or just sell it with everything on it, and get the new 3.3 rtr.

id keep it, buy a new engine, a new body, to give it a new look and maybe some new wheels and tires, just to make it look it different
whenever i get bored with one of my trucks, i just add a new body and it looks like a new truck again!

The truck is worth $650, but you will be hard pressed to get more than about $300, maybe $350 if you get really lucky. It doesn't matter how much you sink into these things, the aftermarket value isn't going to be much higher than the retail price. In fact, a lot of times it's like race cars. You can sell a mint condition stock car for more money that a hopped up hot rod because people know it hasn't been hacked on.

Please know that I'm not bashing on your ride, just telling you what I believe to be the answer to your questions. I hang on to most of my rides, unless I buy them used and resell them for close to the same price. That's why I've had over 20 RC's and I currently have about 14 rigs.

yeah i got you guys. I am keeping the truck and everything. The truck is a 3.3 but have problems with the motor. The tranny isnt good good it clicks whaen it rolls. I just am so confused on everthing that why i wanted to set started new. I'm not real educated on it and was lied when the truck ws sold and the 3.3 and tranny is not awesome but idk how to tinker with a used used tmaxx. the body and everything is new like but i need some info i wanna get really into rcs but am really discouraged right now. Any suggestions

Thanks Patrick

Everything you need to know to do the engine swap and the transmission rebuild is on the internet. I just got my first t-maxx, and putting the engine on is ultra easy, just 4 allen head screws. The transmission is a little more difficult but you can easily get a transmission on ebay or something of the sort. I just redid mine all in rrp steel gears and a forward only conversion because my t-maxx has an os21tm and a supercharger. From what I hear, the os engine will eat up the stock transmission gears but honestly, I'd send that 3.3 into traxxis and get a new 3.3(with their replacement program) and thats just if it doesn't just need tuned.

When you roll it and you hear the 'clicking' noise is there any drag on the wheels? I had both my front and rear diffs went out and they made a clicking noise like Rolex suggested. It was hard to detect, but it's worth checking out.

Well I'm no expert, not like most of the guys here, but I had to tear my Revo down twice to finally figure out it was the diffs. My Revo was doing the EXACT same thing, the rear was worse than the front. I only found the front because I decided to check it while I was checking the rear diff. I'm not sure how hard it is on your truck to check the diffs versus the tranny, but I'd imagine the diff would be easier to find a worn/broken part on, it was on my Revo.......less parts.
