LOL! Instead of getting a savage, i decided that I missed my xxx-nt too much so I just bought a slightly used RC10GT for $110 shipped. I can't wait to get it so i can actually fit on the track at amain indoor. here are some pics....

I will be sure to post pics of it all cleaned up. I plan to get lots of rpm stuff for it and a better engine in the long run. Ill have to use the crappy stock am radio for now untill i get another rx compatable with my mx3.... which really sucks. maybe ill just take out the rx in my buggy for now.

When you get it, if it has CVD axles in it, replace the bones with RC10-T4 CVD bones. They are 1/4 inch longer than the stock bones and will keep them from popping out of the tranny out drives. Specially If you use the RPM rear carriers.

Alright.. thanks for the info. I'm getting blue rpm front, rear arms... blue rpm front small bumper and blue rpm rod ends... Ill add those to my list. I have a $20 off a $50 purchase code on towerhobbies. So i need to get $50 worth of stuff..... I was gonna get an atomik body, but that can always wait.

will these work?

or do i need the full set?

I don't know much about CVD's...

shiney's always good :D

those are the ones, but before I can answer your question, you'll have to wait until you get the truck and see what it has on it. If it has dog bones or universals, get the full CVD set to replace them with. If it has CVD's in it already just get the bones. Of course it wouldn't hurt to get the set anyway, that way you will have spare parts if one of the axles decides to come apart. But on the "Tips" side, get some heat shrink tube and put it over the joint and it will keep you from slinging a pin and save you the headache of trying to find those itty bitty parts.

Damn you eric,now i have to get one,actually I'm buying a xxx-nt,probablly next week.

You will need an rpm rear bulkhead too, just for safety. I suggest lunsford titanium turnbuckles as well. I have every upgrade possible, including a hyper 8 port .21... what a beast. If you have any problems, i can probably answer the questions. I know my gt like the back of my hand.

He said that it has the bones :( O well... hop ups can wait... I'm focusing on just driving it now untill i have enough for everything at once.

sorry for the triple post... but I'm wondering what positive outcome would the cvd's have instead of the bones? I'm not really sure if i would need them if its not accel or handling, etc. Like if its mostly for strength, i don't think i need them.

If it has bones then you will need to get the complete CVD kit. The reason you would want them is in the event that you hit something or land wrong and a rear ball link pops off, you will lose the bones where the CVD's will stay attached to the hub. With the CVD's all you have to do is stick the bone end back in the outdrive and snap the ball end back on. With the Bones you spend 30 minutes trying to find it.

I highly suggest getting the RPM radio box.
Nothing like having your nads swinging in the wind for someone to t-bone.
The box is cheap compared to an RX.

pack it with foam rather than sticking the rx in with tape. the GT RX box isn't as easy to deal with as the Losi box. If you have to change crystals, you will have a hard time doing it if the RX is taped in. The foam will keep it padded when things get really rough too.

YAY it came today!!!! it came early too! I thought it was gonna come on saturday but instead it came today! I was getting it all set up (trying to remember how i set up my xxx-nt) and I noticed that my rear wheels are locking up, but it still spins the spur gear. It feels like the breaks are really tight (see where I'm going)......Tons of lagging..... Is the problem in my tranny?

Also, when i hit the brakes, it is the same lag as when i am in neutral. I don't get the brake set up cuz it seems very different than the xxx-nt. Someone please help. I'm going racing tomorrow with my friend and his hpi rush and I have to have a running car (my buggy is glitching like CRAZY and i don't know what the problem is)

you just loosen the nut on the brake linkage to loosen the brakes. If it still has the spring on the linkage, put a piece of fuel tubing in its place.

Whoa... that was wierd... I did EVERY single thing exactly what you said before i even read your post! thats freaky. Well, it worked :hammer: I fine tuned the throttle and the brakes, and I'm headin out to the track with my brother and my friend (he has a Hpi Rush) in about 15 minutes :D I can't wait. O and the problem with my buggy was that it was the battery was dead... DUH!!! hey, at least my only 2 cars work

I'm not the best at this hobby ( i dont think there is a "best") but i know my gt like the back of my hand. It is a really simple vehicle, once you've worked on it a few times. Lemme know if i can help you out with anything else. Hopefully you have fun!
