GS Storm SUT race truck questions.

So I've been looking around for a while now and I've narrowed it down to the SUT. I only plan on racing and I was wondering if anybody has any experience with this truck from a racers view.

How does it compare to other trucks on the track?

Durability?

Speed/handeling?

Anybody that has driven this truck and other trucks how does it compare?

I think I'm gonna stick to the SUT imo its more of a prooven design, and hotbodies doesn't make the best buggies and for that price I can get the SUT with the JR radio and a new servo.

Anybody have experience with this thing?

well the SUT comes with a FM radio and metal gear HT steering servo and you can get one brand new for 409.00 but you will have to change de diff grease for diff oil 5000 in front 10000 in center and 3000 in the rear this helps to prevent the front tires from turning into baloons and you will not be able to steer. Hope this helps you make a decision on the truck, I do not have one but i know a couple frinds that do and they can handle very good on the track.

The sut comes with grease in the three diffs f/c/r instead of silicone oil. Here are a couple of things I've done to change the performce.

First take the f/c/r diffs apart and clean all of the grease out of them. The following diff fluid recomendation is on GS's website: Add 10,000wt silicone oil to the front, 30,000wt to the center and 3,000wt to the rear. This will help distribute the power where you need it to go and stop it from lifting front wheels off of the ground (ballooning tires). Worked for me.

Move the steering servo to the throttle/brake and go get a good mg servo with more torque. I used the Hitec 645mg and It works just fine.

I've also replaced the servo saver with a much better GS upgrade.

I would buy the one with the 75mhz FM unless you have a better one that will work. In that case get the one with the 27mhz FM if it is still available and save a few dollars.

HB makes a pretty good Buggy I my self have one and like 5 other racers at my local track also have em and they are very good its all about the driver in this case but HB makes real good strong and race worthyh equipment, but thats my opinion

I raced one today w/ my savage and beat it, we were both runnin stock engines, his was real fast too, but I was just a better driver....The sut is best for speed/handling but the savage is far more durable, plus if you've got the skills, you can make the savage work for you.

(I was also racin against a few other MT's and was in 1st the whole time untill I flamed out.. :arrr: )

It seems like everyone is coming out with complete package truggys now. I just recently read about Power Racing Products Swift STR(Stadium Truck Racer) it looks pretty nice as well. If I was in the market for a truggy I would probaly go with the Storm SUT as it seems to be a proven race truck.

well i decided 2 get back in the scene b/c a track is goin up near me and gas is now popular (price of batteries yick!!!). i've decided 2 get a monster. not sure which 1....i looked at this 1. but i'm worried bout this track and the other 1 in the area banning it and others like it 4 the supposed 'truggy' issue. give u an idea of how long i've been around/away....we had the same issue w/bfoots, brutes, and beetles gettin pushed aside when JG was selling 40dollar conversion kits 4 rc10, jrx2, ultima and others 2 make them trucks. those monsters died very quick vs the conversions and later stadiums.

i heard there's no set rules on monsters from roar or norrca so i here ( i remembered those names, they both still around?). so its up 2 the track. like the other present track, this new track will likely have 2 have a 'all-run' monster class 4 now. some1 mentioned their banning truggys there next yr. so this leads me 2 worry bout lookin at a truck like this or a dominator which has th same issue...dont wanna get a truck, then have it banned and need 2 get somethin else.

Get a savage ss, 3-shoe clutch, 645MG, 625MG, MP servo saver, Bowtie 40 series, ofna throttle linkage then your set for racing, I can place 1st w/ that set-up.
