Gs Storm Screws Help Please

Hi All

As you can tell i am brand new to this board.

I jus got a gs storm rtr. And te screws have sheard off the ones that hold the a frame to the chassis .

2 questions

1st how do i remove sheared screws

2nd where do i get replacements the screws are m4 15mm fh

I live in the uk so please bear this in mind.

you can use a dremel to cut a slit in the screw.. or a cross in the screw and use a screw driver. now as far as screw replacements.. you can get some complete stainless screw kits from rcscrewz.com if not.. check your local hardware store..

Just a suggestion, get screws long enough to go through the hingepin blocks so you can locknut them when they are tight & this will solve the breakage problem. As they tend to get loose from vibration. I & alot of people I know have done this already with exellent results, no more loose or broken screws! :cheerful:

Well i did buy some long nuts with that in mind.

Tried to remove old sheared screw and they are locktited in.

So am going to have to get my new hingepins.

Also what size is the hex head that holds the hinge pin pin in place.

If your going to use locktight, its good to know a little about the product. I suggest using green (assembly) locktight as it is strong enough to hold the screws tight & yet easy enough to remove screws when needed (usely with no special tools!). Blue (for 1/4" & bigger screws & bolts) will also work but is a little tough to remove screws without heat or extractors! Red (for screws & bolts not to be removed for long periods of time!) is way overkill for any RC application in my opinion, I use green on my cars & don't have a lick of problems with screws viberating out & haven't had any problem removing screws when needed either!
