I'm pretty sure that all you need is the flywheel and the clutch itself.

Anyone heard of putting a rotostart on a gs storm rtr with the rtr engine?? will this work? will i just have to get the roto start and the backing plate to the motor?

Assuming that the back plate matches with the stock motor, it should work.

Hasn't Ofna come out with a 'roto-start' thing for one of their buggies?

Actually the HPI roto start fits perfect. I have one on mine, its coming off this weekend though. Got a starter box.

all you do is pull off the pull start and put the roto in its place. It works really well, as long as you use the rotostarter instead of a drill. Drill motors are not fast enough and have too much torque.

Ney Nitro. I love mine. I run out on a track that has alot of other buggies, we have every make and model out there. I have no problems running in the front with the higher dollar buggies. I am running with the stock engine right now and it has got real good power. I have upgraded a few things and am very happy with it. Since I race on a budget I had to get something that would hold up to a beating and the storm does tht and more.

It is very durable and there are only a few things that are lacking in the strength department. IE shock towers and drag link.

I would definately go Storm Pro. The Storm Pro has the upgraded parts already on it.

I agree Matty. The only problems for me was NO engine, or Radio so by the time I added those parts I was in almost a 1000 dollars. That was my reason for going RTR and then I could replace the parts that I broke since I drive differently than alot of folks.

On the medium end, you could be out the door at under $700
Storm Pro: 430 (might be cheaper on eBay)
OS 21RG: 110
Airtronix MX-3 w/ 1 servo: 110
Hitec 645: 40

This is what I would suggest. You could save some money on the radio, but that would give you a decent radio system.

This is going from memory of about 5 months ago, but I belive stock is 2.5 out on LSN, and 4.5 on HSN. I'm sure someone else will jump in.

What are you gentlemen using to beef up up the drag link on the rtr version?

Hey stretch. I went with the dynamite 7075 drag link and it works very well. I also am using the dynamite chassis and shock towers. I have had no problems with any of these parts.

Drag link? Do you also mean the steering plate:

If so, I just had a spare steering plate, so I put them together, one on tope the other.

Yes, I'm sorry the correct term is the steering plate. Use 2 of them together, hadn't thought about that one. I was also considering the gs option part, it looked like a ti steering plate. Any comments?

Heck yeah. If I didn't have the extra plate laying around, I would have gone with the Dynamite plate.

But with GS part coming out w/ a steering plate w/ flanged ball bearings, it would be tempting to go that route as well.
