Hi guys just signed up this afternoon :D

First off, Happy New Year!!

For christmas the missus brought me a budget electric truggy, a Maverick Atom XT RTR for taking out with me on dog walks good fun but only does 20-25mph and the dog catches up with it in seconds!

Wanted a Nitro monster truck for years but now have the urge to start now!

Been doing a bit of reading about running nitro rc's but clueless on what model to go for? Can anyone recommend a model?

The only criteria I have is that would like it to be a large monster truck, nitro, able to do 30+ mph and be used mainly on field/woodlands.

Budget of around say £200.

Is this do able? Also what are your thoughts on buying second hand? But then again I like the idea of running in a brand new engine, must be a good feeling to get it setup perfectly!

Happy new year to you too 1st off how much is that in yankee money. Then never settle for less than what you want cause theres not enough time in the day to talk yourself into your happy with what you bought. this is only my personal opion from passed experience if I'm gona get something used i would rather go no engine no radio and put those items in brand new those can be your two biggest headaches that take the fun out of it. You can probaly pick up a traxas truck new for bout $400 complete gather somemore input from people on this sight theres a lot of knowledge out there good luck in your search!:D

your looking for something like a revo or a t maxx but its going to cost alittle more than what your lookin to spend 200 pounds is like 310 us and a revo is going to cost ya around 580 and a tmaxx is 450 check out www.towerhobbies.com and look around good luck

A Traxxas 2wd would be closest to your budget. They're all good trucks. Plenty fast, parts are cheap and so are hop ups. Check out the Stampede, Rustler and Nitro Sport and see if any of them are up your alley.

i take it your in the uk i would say for 1/10th scale to spend £250 or 1/8th £300 to £500 cheap cars will cost in the long run if you can get parts for them stick with main brands even hpi are getting harder to get parts for in the uk
