Thanks for the input I dont want to spend the money ob green slime if I can find a good substitute, especially for something I may already have at home. I'm going to try the axle grease grease first. It's high temp rated and still a petroleum product so I dont think it wil harm anything it contacts. Its new leftover grease from the wheel bearings on my old jeep cherokee that I repacked last summer. and its thicker than vaseline. I heard similar stories about the HSN , I havent looked yet but it sounds like the HSN threads are real fine pitch and easy to strip. Ill repost with results about the wheel beaqrin grease.
