Hello dear community. I have the Traxxas question. Just building X max 8S model - and totally lost with diffs greace - can someone explain which grease is better for each diff (manual says front diff 10k rear diff 30 k but YouTube says 30k front and 10k rear sometimes ) Which way is correct and has a great balance between steering and durability. Here will be awesome to collect all specifications and info about all diffs and gears service Thanks

Welcome to RCT

Starting with the factory recommended weights is rarely the wrong thing to do. Of course, if you are unhappy with the truck's performance (too many wheelies, not enough wheelies, etc) then you can adjust to your preference.

I run 50k f/r in both my Kraton and Sledge and it's not too thick. I question 30/10k for an XMaxx.

What you run in the front depends on what you run in the center, the rear is it's own thing. The thicker you run the center diff the thinner you can run the front diff. The thinner you run your center diff the thicker you have to run the front diff to keep the inside wheel from diffing out in the corners. The thinner you run the front diff the better your truck will corner. The thinner you run the center diff the better the truck will hold a line under power. And last, everything is a compromise.

For a truck as big and heavy as an XMaxx I would start with 100/1000/80. For an 8s Outcast that setup would be considered thin.
