Looking for any feedback on GPM products for the Savage. What's good, what should I stay away from?

A GPM alum bulkhead was the first aftermarket part i bought for my savage. I was not happy with it, i actually liked the stock plastic one better. I then bought a Golden Horizions bulkhead. It made me regret ever buying the GPM one, even before it broke. I have only bought golden horizons since, except for my a-arms(new era).

I'm not trying to promote GH, cuz there is a lot of good companys out there, i'm just saying i am not a believer in GPM or Tops. Of course this is just my opnion, so don't get bent if you like GPM.

I don't have a Savage but I do own many GPM products for my Losi Mini-T and my HPI Micro RS4. I like them a lot, fit is great and they seem to handle the punishment I dish out. The price is right on them that is for sure.

I wouldn't recommend them. I have had three of their products and two did not last at all. I had the GPM Titanium Universal Swing Arms on my T-maxx & they didn't even make it through 3 quarts b/f they broke. I also have a GPM Cooling Head on my S-25. I think it was causing my engine to overheat. When I first put it on, the temps dropped pretty good. But after that, they shot up. Although I just found out that I have some tranny problems. So that may be why my temps shot up. I am going to retest the cooling head later this week. Hopefully, everything will be ok b/c I just can't stand the HPI purple.

Later....:mex:

I had their steel swing arms for the maxx and they shelled out within about 5 tanks. The dogbone ends ears wore right off on 3 of them. I drilled it out and put a steel pin in that I got from the hardware store. They have held up now on my sport maxx for about a gallon. I like the rest of the axle, but whatever they used for the pin, was way to soft.

i have most of my savage gpm and mad parts did not last at all very disappontied in there product espeacily there bulk heads i been chaging there parts over to Integy parts much more stonger thats wat i think I'm not puting down gpm it just don't cut it for the savage

From what I've bought from integy for my maxx, I'd suggest you start looking for something other than that as well. Integy's stuff is pretty to look at, but very soft.

Well, it depends on what you need for a part. For bulkheads, I'd go with GA 7075 al bulks. Tough as nails and not too expensive. $120 for front and rear set as well as front and rear al bulk braces. They look really nice and like I said, the 7075's are tough.

For arms, I'd run RPM. For shock towers, I'd run stock, or Unlimited Engineerings Knuckle Heads.

olds97 you do realize this is the Savage forum and your quoting Tmaxx parts :) If only RPM would make arms for a Savage I bet it would be a big seller.

Yes, I do. But just because the parts I bought were for a maxx, doesn't mean the poor quality of material won't be used for their savage parts.

I also have a savage...

id say no to integy i have everything integy and i am very dissapointed, i think i'd rather have stock plastic, looks nice though, way to soft bends really easy with lightest crash or flip I'm going to switch to new era

Tower has a lot of Golden Horizons stuff. Is this any good??

Digger I have the Golden Horizon chassis plates with center skids. I like them so far but broken a shock not long after getting them. So I am not to sure how much abuse they will with stand. Anyone out there with stock shocks they would like to part with or sell at a low price :)
