My local HobbyTown gave me a price of about $200 for the 2.4 Ghz module and receiver for the Airtronics M11 radio. That was the cost of the unit, receiver and local tax all totaled.
I almost ordered it yesterday, then just decided to wait a while.
Well, today I got an Email from Tower, since I'm a club member, with a $25 discount on anything over 149.
Well, I cashed in the coupon, and also get free shipping since it's over 149.
It will be here in a few days. $144 to my door. Just great.

God Bless you.. its a gift from big guns upstairs :P

I like Tower too...I bought an RC plane awhile back and got it in and the fuselage was cracked ......just my luck. I called them on Monday morning and they had a new one in my mail box on Friday...so it would be Thursday for the States..catch is I live in Okinawa Japan. Cost to me.....the happiness knowing they have the best customer support in the business.

Yes, that is a great deal. why can't i have that kind of luck with the stuff i want?

Agreed, I don't do much business with the "local" Hobbytown, which is 60 miles away in Chico. Mostly since gas is $4 a gallon on the cheap stuff, at 16mi/gallon, couple that with the prices Hobbytown wants... I'd rather pay overnight shipping on friday.

Rolex is the a shelf queen radio or will you actually take it outdoors

Are you kidding me? Why would I take it outside? That huge comp screen faces up, and a lot of dust and pollen could settle on it.
It's in the cabinet on the left, top shelf, on a plush towell, behind a closed door, safe from even house dust....

EDIT: Oh, and come to think of it, I would have to make a 40 mile round trip to pay for it in advance, then another 40 miles to go pick it up.

Rolex, if you aren't going to get the Savage dirty, at least have a cluttered and unmanageable desk.

Get a plastic tarp for it then, like the one my dad used to have to keep the pollen out of our boat.

Hey Rolex, what do you have in that computer? It looks like one heck of a machine.

That's one bad boy.
Core 2 Quad CPU; 3Gb RAM; Two 320Gb SATA Drives; HDTV Tuner. 5.1 surround output, S-video in/out, mem card slots, wireless KB and mouse, Lightscribe, and on and on. Got it all.

VERY nice. Your drives in RAID config?

Do you play any games on that thing other than VRC?

I use it for music, mostly. That's the reason I got it. MIDIs don't like running on slow comps and take a lot of memory.
My primary game is RealFlight G4, R/C airplane and heli simulator. That takes a lot to run without glitching. So far, this thing's been flawless.

Oh Yeah, the 2.4 Ghz spread spectrum module and receiver for my M11 showed up today. Rx is 1" square with an antenna length of only 6". Antenna on the radio module is only 3 1/4".
I didn't know it when I ordered it, but I can remove my failsafe since there's one built in that is programmable.
The M11 is one awesome radio, and now, with the addition of the 2.4 DSS, it's absolutely the best.

I think I'm out of excuses now, and I might have to think about starting the Savage up.
