Hey Guys,

I had a couple of friends stop by today to help with the yearly track maintainence. The winter was not kind and it needed a bit of work but we got all the harder stuff done today. We still need to make a few tweeks and put in a set of woops but all in all it is looking good. We did freashen up the layout a bit while we were at it too. The big pile in the back is actually the back side of a nice banked turn. Here are a few before and after pictures to show the layout changes. The next step is a drivers stand which I hope to start in the next weekend or two. Nothing fancy just high enough to see the whole layout.

You lazy jerk, taking pics through a screen door! :hehe:

Nice! I have started clearing land myself to start work on a track myself. It just sucks I am gonna have to get clay brought in, the ground here is all sand.

Actually they are from the second story window.....I wanted to get high enough to get the whole track with one pic. I was hoping the screen would washout.....sorry. :)

That's cool Joe! You will have to snap some pictures. I know what you mean about having to have dirt brought in. All the clay I had to truck in too. I still need to get out there and spray a bunch of weed killer and fix some of the piping....but a lot of the hard work is done.

Not much to take pics of yet, just been working the chainsaw lol. My Dad has an old John Deere 2040 tractor with a bush hog and a box blade which I'll have to use once I get all the scrub oak cleared out. How many feet of the drainage pipe did you use on your track? How many yards of clay?

About 500ft of piping give or take and two small dump beds of dirt....I'm not sure how many yards exactly. I went and loaded it myself. I wish I had access to MX clay mix! Our clay here in MD is very sandy.

The track looks great Tom, I would love to get something set up like that!

When can we come over?

I would love to host an RCNT bash! Especially once I get the drivers stand built. I hope to start on that sooner than later on that, but lots of things will factor in, including cost and time which are both in short supply these days.

Thanks Pete! I couldn't have done it without the help of my two buds that came by to help. I am usually on my own to maintain it so I keep it simple and easy to work on, but their help was the big difference!

I thought the driver stand had the green slide on it so you could go and flip over your car when it lands on the lid....

Looks great. Can't wait to see some action shots there.

That is where I stand now but you can't see the end of the track at all! LOL

My daughter wants me to put monkey bars on the drivers stand!

Will you be adding any jumps? One of the long straights would be cool with a long double, or even just a ski jump to flat.

Yes. We are thinking about what else we can do. We ran out of time yesterday. We would like to add a tabletop and maybe a nice rhythm section. We definitely have a nice canvas to work with.

Hey Tom, did you use the 6" or 4" pipe?

I went with the 4in pipe. I chose the 4in over the 6in strictly on cost. The 4in is about $48 for 100ft. It works well and it is easier to just drive over when the car exits the track which is nice considering we don't have any turn marshals. LOL!

After pricing the stuff myself, that's exactly why I am considering going with the 4".
