Hey all jsut wanting to do lots of modes but need some info and advice on whats the best way to do them, hope u can answer my Q's.

Do you think it would be possible to put these shocks on my savage http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKXJ0&P=7 ?

Also I'm re greasing my diffs for the first time and was jsut checking, i have 1000lb grease and 3000lb grease do i put the 3000lb in the front diff and the 1000lb in the rear or is it the other way around?

Also does any one know of a tank that i can use in the same stock location on the savage like the ofna fuel tank or the MT2 tank? Right now I'm thinking about using a 4oz airplane tank and ziptying it to the shock tower or something idk. LMK if u know of any good modes, dont really want to do the center tank mode tho.

Thats all that i can think of now if i have anymore Q's ill jsut ask them here thanks for the help.
-Nick

you want the 3k in the front and the 1k in the rear ,i do know that
as for the shocks and tank mod ,someone other then me can asnwer that man .lol

Ok thanks for the info i thought i herd that somewhere but wasn't sure so i figured id ask thanks, also if any one has any more mods that they think i should consider lmk

while you have the diff's apart might aswell shim them too check out my thread about shimming the pinion gear ,it works good

I did see your thread but didnt know what the pinion gear was or didnt understand it to good ill look into it tho Thanks.

Try Skip here on the forum her runs those shocks but has custom adaptors. Give him a PM

n/p ,if your into working on 1:1 cars ,this is alot like setting the back lash on a rear end
just moves the pinion (bevel gear) closer to the ring gear and just makes it mesh alot nicer

The OFNA tank will fit, but not with the stock shocks... at least not easily. Also, you have to make mounts for it.

I run a 4 shock setup on my savage and I also run the OFNA tank. With the rear shocks on the back side of the shock tower, it leaves me plenty of room to mount the OFNA tank. It's been so long since I've had the stock shocks on (about 2 years) that I don't remember how much room there is stock.

Here's mine with homade L brackets:

Actually, I found a pic from when I had stock shocks (or similar to stock) and the OFNA tank. The tank had to be mounted lower to clear the throttle linkage, but it ran like crap like this. The carb was higher than the tank, so it wouldn't tune well.

Also, the tank was mounted backwards so the fuel pick up was on the front. With it mounted the right way, the fuel nipple hit the shock. I think new era has a kit though... http://www.neweramodels.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?session_id=&part_id=1704 I'm not real sure how they got away with it, but it does appear to clear the rear shock and throttle linkage. I think they mount the tank to the fuel tank gaurd with a couple little posts off the bottom.

Thanks for the info olds i may buy the tank from newer models but i think I'm jsut going to go with the 4oz air plane tank it jsut seems so much easier and cheeper, idk maybe it has problems too ill jsut see, thanks for the link if all else fails ill just get it.

ok, i think ill just go to the hobby shop and pick them up thanks for the info and help, when i get this project finished ill post a pic for yall to slober over. lol well if i didnt own it id be slobering over it lol, this is gonna be my dream savage that iv been obscessing over for about a year now lol.

Hey all i jsut got my parts from tower yesterday and I'm doing the diff modes and was wondering how much silicon diff grease I'm supposed to put in it or where should i fill it to. Thanks in advance

fill them to just the tops of the cross shafts. make sure to rotate them a bit to get rid of any bubbles.
