Well I am the Proud owener of a Savage!

I went into my LHS tonight and was looking at them on the shelf. The Sales guy comes up like it was a used Car Lot. "What will it take to send you home with one of these babies?" I said "not much, just pull it down off the shelf, and try to keep the price tag facing away from my Wife."

I can't wait!

NCNitro - Trust me you will NOT regret selling one of your Maxx's fo a Savage!

agm130 - Welcome to the Savage Club  I'm sure you'll love the savage!

I was planning on buying a savage but i would rather have a better .21 engine then the stock one. Its pretty sad how a .21 will only do around 30 out of the box. If hpi was smart they would of put a different engine in that has more balls and top speed.

The engine they used is a mid-grade .21 that has proven reliability. It is also very forgiving of the novice RC modeler. Is it supposed to be a monster engine? No, it is simply supposed to get the truck moving and allow you to have fun. HPI fully expects that smart RC modelers are going to drop bigger engines in the Savage or at least .21 engines that can outperform their stock engine. For the novice, the stock engine is sufficient.

The Hyper 8 port seems to be getting the most 'thumbs-up' for a high end replacement. This is if you insist on making it go insane and uncontrollable speeds hehehehe

Just think of the air you could get :hehe:

The stock engine is plenty. 30 might not sound fast (I guess) but for a monster truck it is whipping. Especially for track use. And yes, you can get some great jumps in, with the right ramp, with a stock Savage. And it will survive

That engine would be great for the Savage, if it had a pull start.

The new Trinity Sirio engines do not come with pull starts, yet; but they are coming.

The Sirio .18 will drop in to the 2.5 T-Maxx, but you need to bolt on the EZ start from the 2.5 to make it go.

Now, if you find a way to get a starter box or some other starter system to work for the Savage, have at it.

I wouldnt drop 345 bucks on a mill for a monster truck! Especially when the 8 port is only 140 bucks! NO WAY!

Now for my Onroad or Buggy that would be a different story. Wasted in a monster truck is my opinion.

Unless of coarse you have money to burn then have at it!

I agree Çh®i§tiªñ 345.00$ is way to much for an engine thats going to be running in a monster truck. I thought i was nuts when i spent 180$ on my o.s. rg-x(p). Now 345.00 thats just plain stupid!!!
