ok I'm more of a nitro guy got a couple of t-maxx i also have a traxxas stampede how hard would that be to convert into a back yard crawler if it is at all possible what would i need to do this dont wanna go to deep into like i said like my nitros i just had the stamped giving to me thought it would be fun to make a crawler i see they are getting big now any insight would be help full thanks guys

Honestly I would not waste my time, Nitro will not work for crawling, You would over heat the motors unless you figured out some way to water cool them and keep the temps down, also you would have to figure out some way to keep the RPM's up so that you are creating the power you you would need to crawl but have it go slow and be drivable at the same time. Also all of the trucks you mentioned have independent suspension, Crawlers work on a solid axle with either a 3 or 4 link suspension set up. But if you want to try it more power too you, go for it and see what you can come up with.

Here is some pics of my crawler to give you an idea of a crawler set up.

sorry about the confusion the stamped is electric thats the one i wanna convert to a crawler

The problems of converting the Stampede to crawling are:

1. Gearing - They're geared for speed not power.
2. Center of gravity - The CG is a lot higher on the Stampede
3. Rear Wheel Drive - All crawlers are 4-wheel drive. Most have the diffs and the Transmission locked as well.

Ya I can't see a stampede being a crawler at all. If you dont want anything special axial has a ax-10 rtr crawler built for backyard bashing pretty much. Its just over 200 bucks.

The Venom Creeper kit is on sale at RPP for just $125!!!!! Thats such a cheap start into crawling, just add electronics and your off to a pretty good start.

You might be able yo pull the ESC and steering servo and radio from the stampede to get you going for now, but it would probably be more like a rock racer, but at least that would be a cheap way to get started in crawling to see if you like it.:D
