I've been pretty busy and with the time change and drive from work I don't get home until way after dark. This means I've only had weekends to tinker with the Savy.

I put the 3-speed and reverse in last weekend and barely had 15-minutes to run the truck and make sure everything worked. I couldn't hear it shift but I didn't have time to really investigate.

I tried to run the Savy today and sure enough, I wasn't hearing it shift. I tried standing starts and low speed runs too.

According to the HPI Europe site instructions the 3-speed kit is setup for the S-25 with 40-series dog bone type tires (like the LE kit)...

So, since I've got the stock wheels and tires from the RTR I'm wondering if the shift points need to be tweaked. I don't want to rip the case apart a dozen times to turn the set screw, so I was hoping I could poll the site for everyone who is running the 3-speed and see what their's is set to.

I've got a K4.6 going in soon and I'd like to run 40 series wheels and tires down the road, but for now I'm just trying to get the 3-speed to shift with what I've got.

Any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys!

I'm going to hopefully install my 3 speed this weekend and would also love to know if someone already has the shift point for a savage with a SH28 in there (stock wheels).

(not trying to highjack your thread, just thought it would be silly to start another on the same topic :) )

The shift points will vary depending on which engine and CB/spur combination you are using. I was lucky to have my 3 speed shift well out of the box, but if it doesn't then you need to adjust according to your driving style.

Was it that important you had to say it twice? :D

I'm aware of that SweetD, but I was just hoping someone could ballpark it for me. In my last thread on the 2-speed someone gave me a base line and I set it to that and it immediately started shifting better.

Thanks...

I installed mine yesturday (got the preassembled package). I only ran it up the street 2-3 times but mine seemed to shift a little to soon with stock tires. However, the stick 2 speed tranny was way out of wack and would not shift. I can imagine that some are set way off from each other from the factory.
