Got A 3 Shoe For My SS.

I am also going the 3 shoe route on my SS. I am putting it in during the build so I guess I won't be able to compare performance.

3 and 4 shoe clutches are tha bomb. I'm running some 4 shoe on my Picco 26 powered savage. The difference it made was unbelievable, especially on hole shots and comming out of corners. Very little slip. The Mugen setup looks real good, but I haven't put it on my lightning yet (still running the stock 2 shoe on that).

Is there a huge difference between the 3 shoe clutch/flywheel? I mean I have a 3 shoe stock 25 but would I benefit with going with an Envy or other aftermarket setup.

(Quality, Performance,etc)

It did in my case. My SS never even gave a hint of doing wheelies unless I hit a small hill or something like that.

Now......If it doesn't spin it wheelies. The Envy set-up has a smaller diameter flywheel which may help in the rotating mass department compared to others.

I added a HB tuned pipe after the 3 shoe deal and top end seemed to improve over the XTM one-piece pipe. Still testing this set-up though.

I've bored out a carburetor to try also, after I'm happy with the new tuning with the HB pipe..:ponder:

Hmmm, I just changed over to a 3 shoe setup. Got an ofna flywheel, gs racing clutch and ofna springs. I got lighter springs since I don't want the thing to load up and than dump power to the clutch and take off. almost like a stall converter. Newayz I may not really notice the difference since I have upgraded the pipe too.

Not to piss in someone's pond, but do any of you know of a 3 shoe combo that will work on a 2.5 maxx with the 72 tooth spur?

I currently am running MIP's 2 shoe 2.5 clutch on my OS 21 RG maxx.

The only reason I ask, is a lot of stuff I read about savage owners is that a good portion of them have the maxx as well.

Thanks.

Here is the 3 shoe clutch I use with my Maxx.

GA 3 Shoe Clutch

I am using it with a RRP 72 Tooth Spur and 19 Tooth Bell.

Hey man, Thanks for the link. I'm also very interested but didn't want to devaite off subject so I started a thread in the T-maxx forum. I'd love it if you "chimmed" in.

Thanks
