I'm going to be getting a new body soon , and I'm just looking for some input on what a good paint is that comes in a spray can, i dont have an airbrush , ill probably get one sometime this summer/spring. ... if anyone has any input for that id apreciate it too ... thanks in advance:thumbsup:

I would use Pactra Racing Finish polycarbonate paint. This is specifically for these types of plastic. They come in a ton of colors and you'll be able to do a few neat things with them if you want to try. Airbrushing is certainly nicer for doing intricate things. But if you're just going to do 1 or 2 colors, the cans will work fine.

Pactra is cool like Candy said. The main thing is just make sure you get paint made for LEXAN bodies dont use regular model or plain spray paint. It will chip off and not adhear correctly to the lexan body. X

Actually I'm experimenting with a new airbrush paint. It's by Createx. It's not marketed as polycarbonate paint, but it comes in the same type of bottle as Faskolor and smells the same. I have read on other forums that it holds just as well and costs about $1.50 less per bottle. But you need an airbrush to use it.

do you have an air brush?
i had one once and you can buy cans of air if you dont have a small compressor. if your doing a small job and not going to use it often, the cans of air work fine.
if you need a compressor and dont have one, they sell a small oen for like $80 that works great the hobbier.
has anyone bought something off this guy on ebay before?

he has some amazing prices on stuff ...like a drill press for like $45 shipped? the drill pressess are made my ameican forge so who knows how good they are but for small time hobby use what ya guys think?

I have used the Createx before. I had some issues with the paint pealing off. If you use steel wool on the inside before you paint it will help a lot.

I found it works great for the detail arias. It gives much less splatter.

When you spray this stuff do you need sand lightly inbetween coats or just let dry really well?? And do you just pick up the paint at your lhs??

on the compressor you posted pass it up pay a little more and get a cambell housefield .. trust me i repair compressors the best ones to get are the cambell and devilbliss ...or sears craftsman made by same people ... sorry to go off topic but hate to see people waste there money
