what kind of tires should i get for the winter. i heard that paddles are good, but i am sure that i'll be riding on hard pack a lot of the time, so i don't think paddles would be that great. is there studs i can put on, or another good snow tire. right now i am leaning towards paddles, but would like to know what else is out there. thanks.

maxx-Mulchers is what i was thinking about. i figured that i would want a pair of them for the summer anyway, so those are what i might think about. if i stud my stock tires would they willl be to heavy?, and also could i run my stock tires backward for the snow to act like a small paddle.

The stock rubber is such a hard compound that it doesn't hook up hardly at all on snow or anything else when they are cold. I've found that softer compound tires work better in winter. Something like imex swamp dawg's in the soft compound worked pretty good for me last year. The stock savage tires worked pretty good as well.

I may buy a set of Losi's zombi maxx tires this year and see how they work. Losi's rubber compound is really soft and sticky.
