So what would be a good motor for the xnt that I can learn with. I'll probably keep two motors around for the thing, one for practice, and one for racing. But first and formost I need one to learn on. Any suggestions.

You may want to try an OS Engine (Motors are electric on this forum)

OS is notorious for being a long-lasting and easy to tune engine and they are priced right.

You will be completive at at a local level with it at the track as well.
Choose between a .12 or .15 depending on what your track allows. I would choose a .12 for this application.

Here are a few to look at. You didn't mention if you wanted a pull start or a bump start engine. For a pull start add an X to the end of the part number.

bump start for sure. I figured I was going to get a little ribbing for the motor comment.

I think Eddy gave you the same advice that most guys will give you here. O.S. CV and CV-R are some of the most dependable, well made, affordable engines you can get. Almost no one has any complaints about them, they are good enough to keep you competitive, and when you get good at tuning and want to get something sexier, you will have the experience not to burn it out. There is nothing worse than frying an engine that you spend $300 on.

i have just finished putting my 24.7 in my truck and i like it alot. before i had that i had the O.S cv-rx .15 engine. i really liked it alot. it gave me truck good power and a nice top speed. not to mention the tuning was pretty easy. i would go with the cv-rx .15 but all of the O.S motors are good.

Sometimes it helps to read the WHOLE thread not just the last post...

hell i did, everybody was talking about nitro engines and then el pirata said something about an electric motor and that caught me off guard.

That would be because the title set me off. I had a pretty good idea that untchbl was referring to an ENGINE, but for some reason calling and ENGINE a MOTOR seems to set me off.

I would say the OS-CVR over the CV, or hyper. The sleeve on the cv-r is chromed, and will take more abuse than the abn on the cv's. Plus the price has come down to decent levels now. .02
