Let me start off by saying Smartech is kind of a laughed at brand in the R/C world. I'm no knocking them, but they're hard to find parts for and not all that great all the way around. If you're looking for this as your first r/c I wouldn't recommend it. It would probably discourage you from continuing in the hobby because of the factors above.

On the other hand, If you can get it for less than $100 it would be fun to tinker around with.

Also, if you want to see what other members might have, post in the wanted to buy section with what you're looking for, and how much you plan to spend.

Lastly and again, I'm not saying Smartech is a bad brand, some people like them, and some people don't.

i will take both of those replys into consideration but right now I'm siked so all i really want is a good car that isn't that fast but i could find replacement arts for until i get a new job..then I'm planning on spending around 300 on a nitro car but I'm not going to wait right now.

hahahahaha..well whats the main factor about them? cheaply made parts? not enough replacement or performance parts? or everything?

Runaway while you still can there not worth it, no parts support, cheaply made and there is much better out there to choose from save your money and get something a little bit more durable and that your gonna be happy with, there is no quicker way to get in and out of the hobby then buying a cheapily made rc that you'll be pissed at because its falling apart on you, this is just IMO tho do as you feel you need to.

On the other hand if you understand that you will be ordering parts by mail and repairing it often it may get you a few months of frustrating fun. You also need to understand that its going to cost you more for support equipment then your paying for the truck. You can add another 60-100.00 on top of what you pay just to try and get it started.

Getting it running and keeping it running is another issue. The engine is bad as best. It will be difficult to start and even more difficult to tune and keep running.

There os no other way to say this. Save you money and get something later on that will much better suite you. Tossing money out the window is what it ads up to. If you truly want it then go for it but again beware its a cheap box of headaches and frustration at best.

ok..well i was outbid at 52.00 so i guess ill just keep it that way. Today I'm going to try to find a job so i can pay for this starting hobby and I'm also going down to my local R/C headquarters and see what kind of deals he has. Ill write down some of the cars and post them and see what you guys think.

Thanks for the advice,

I'm with Itsme. Id cancel all my bids ASAP. Honestly I wouldnt pay the $35 that its at right now. Not only are they harder than hell to find parts for, but they have been known to run and handle like ass. Best off buying a used namebrand one if your looking to pay less.
