RC Driving Style
hey,
I got out of the Nitro car world a couple of months ago. My first and only nitro rc car was a HPI savage .21. Not the SS. Anyways, it was a horrible experience, it was hard to keep running, and i broke small things such as dogbones. The reason i got out of it was a crash and i just decided you know it was to much effort. I, sadly, have missed the hobby. I Was wondering what you would suggest as a good RTR kit. I want something very easy, easy tuning, easy starting and a blast to drive (offroad please!). I have LOTS of experience with small gas engines like Zenoah g230rc's and stuff from gopeds. maybe i could get a gasser. Help me out guys! :)

Well, to be perfectly honest, i dunno if gas cars would be right for you. The 21bb is a pretty easy engine to tune, so if you can't get that right, i dunno what'd be easier. The savage is pretty much bulletproof except for a few things. Usually once you upgrade the little things, it'll pretty much be indestructible.

Maybe an RC10GT?

I mean, at the time it was early on when they were hard to get. I had to pullstart it. My friend bought a MT2...hes got a roto starter. All u do is push a button and the bugger starts! thats what i need~

Well pullstart really aren't THAT big of a pain in the ass. As long as then engine is tuned decently, there's fuel in the engine, and the glow plug is working, it *should* start.

But if you want to use a roto starter, I think on the savage 25's, it comes standard with a rotostart...or if you still have your savage 21, you can buy a rotostart for it.

Look in the video thread. there's a vid of a 5th scale monster truck with a gas engine.
very expensive.

I would have to recomend the HPI MT2 for a beginner nitro. No, it can't handle what the savage can, but comes 100% prebuilt and it has rotostart. It seems like a good choice for you, but if you want something bigger and better than what your friend has (like me, my friend has the NMT, so I had to have the savage) then get the Savage .25.

What about the T-maxx or S-maxx. My friend has the S-maxx and it looks pretty easy. However, its two wheel drive and amost wheelies to much to drive lol! My cousin has a used rc10gt for sale. However, he uses a drill to start it so I'm kind of sketchy about it. He says he has a lot of stuff though. Thx for the responses keep them coming.

I would stay away from T/S-Maxxs. From what I've heard, they are the MT that breaks the most and costs the most to keep running. Stick with the savage.
