golden horizons servo saver

I got the Monster Pirate saver instead. I think this part came out recently. The MP saver is only $20. But it would be nice to have a direct hop-up instead of having to finagle the MP saver... But then again, paying only $20 is nice too.

Actually, if you notice, it's not available until mid-november.

It reminds me of a beefier version of Pro-Lines steering for the maxx. The price is pretty close... except on the pro-line kit for the maxx, the arms are plastic.

yeah, i saw where it wont be out for another month. I found a savage pic that had one on it last night. The guy said he had connections with GH or something and was able to get one. I will look for that pic again and post it here.

i lost turning radius with my m.p mod!!!
I did the MP mod and it added radius. i can now trun the savage in the yard without hitting the fence. Maybe u have a screw hitting something during a turn?

I think I lost a little bit too, but I only drove the savage for about 5 tanks before I did the mod, so I can't be sure. I know it difinatly has a larger turning radius than my maxx.

On mine, the little arm on the saver hits the diff housing before the wheel uprights bind.

Here is the saver......

Here is a little bit of info I found on it:::

It needs no shimming,

Is already bolted to the crossbar, with the MP variant you need to figure out a decent way to bolt it up to the stock or aftermarket one without having sloppy joints that add to the steering slopiness

It comes with bearings and fastners, and the crossbar - what does an aluminum setup from GPM cost? and GPM ain't adjustable

It is adjustable for tension, not a big deal you say? well at least you will never have to strip down the truck to shim up the spring to get back the tension just twist the collar

It has the proper geometry, so you don't have to "notch" anything to get maximum left - right radius, sometimes a problem for those who seek increased turning radius

And the really big plus is the fact that the crossbar is not forced down when the "saver" operates, because the part that moves is connected to the servo arm so that hits nothing

By far this is the best solution for the sad stock Savage setup

Looks like a great design to me. I'll bet those will sell great. Nice find on the pics.

You don't get any kickbacks on promoting this stuff do you? ;)

Nice informative post. If I get annoyed enough the the MP setup, this is definitly a good route to go.

hahahha..I WISH! There would be one on my Savage if i did. :smoke:

Might just have to add this to my Christmas wish list. The MP is doing good for me now, and at more than half the cost not a bad upgade over stock.
Its sweet, but i can't see paying the $45 for it. Maybe i can con my wife to buy it for me. Oh wait, then that would mean i bought it

I know that all too well... hope christmas comes soon for you!

Thanks...but i doubt it happens. I want so much RC stuff already. You should see my list!!! Not getting my hopes up cuz my 2 year old will get everything.
And by the time she shops for me....will be broke.... :hammer:

I know the feeling. I'm parting out my "t-maxx" adventure just so I can have some fun $ for the savage. It doesn't need anything, but I wouldn't mind a few things...

mmmmm not me.....I'm like you tho, Id like to see how it works to.

Anyone???

No, the MGT servo saver will not fit the savage. The mgt servosaver arms are 180 degrees offset vs the savage servosaver are slightly less than 90 degrees offset. In addition the position of the arms on the length of the belcranks is different. The team associated servosaver lists for 69.99. Gh also has an Al upgrade for the mgt at 49.99. I go to GH all the time and they are packaging the savage aluminum servo saver upgrade as fast as humanly possible. I know they will sell everyone they make. Be patient this part is worth the wait. Too bad I sold my savage.

So then, has anyone ever tried the Kimbrough one on the Savage? I was looking at the MGT forum and they were using the Kimbrough one on their MGTs.
