Going to try this transmission setup on the drag Vett.

Think I’m going to make a HPI RS4 2 speed trans. 44/41 tooth, billet bulk heads, brake ect. Think that should work out well. Any tips/advice I’m always open too

You doing the full rs4 tranny, or just the clutch parts on the outside of another tranny? I know the rwd traxxas trucks, people used to put the 2 speed clutchbell on the motor, and the 2 speed gear assembly mounted to the slipped shaft on the outside.

This is what it is. Still waiting on new spur gears and aluminum bulk head. Already have all aluminum belt pulleys different sizes to play with. I think the 41T and 44T for spur gears will be a good start? If you have any combo ideas I’m all ears. Send some pics of the trans. You got?

I never did the external 2 speed as when I went to purchase parts........ there wasn't much to purchase as they dried up.

I can't find any old threads as they were 20 years old. I'm slowly stocking parts for my rwd 2 speed build. I did buy a complete 2 speed mentioned above for my rs4 3 evo, but that isnt for my rwd truck.

The eBay ad you posted. I’m working with this guy as we speak. He’s the one I got the threaded clutch bell and gears from. Awesome dude for sure.
And yea the trans parts are hard to find.
