I took my latest scx24 rig out for a test at my local rc store track, it did ok but I ended up with a micro b…it’s so tiny but looks like fun!!
Now, I don’t want to go crazy like with the mini b but are there any upgrades worth investing on? I figured the a arms, shocks and shock towers. What say y’all?

I wouldn’t worry about a-arms, from what I saw it was tire choices and possibly adding a heatsink to the motor. Don’t fall for the injora or eco power motors, they just burn up. An 050 motor will mount right up and give you extra torque.
I don’t have one, I just went down the research rabbit hole

Really? I was wondering if such a small rig needed any upgrades. So not even the shocks and/or steering knuckles and such?

I put the RPM bumper set on mine to give some protection to the suspension, especially in the front. They have skid plates incorporated into them so you can slide over small obstacles instead of getting hung up. The only other mod I might look at ( for now😉) would be adjustable tie rods . Love my micro B (and T)

Yes, the bumpers for sure.

I have seen the aluminum hub carriers and spindles. One thing I have seen is that the steering links pop off a lot. It’s hard to say what it really needs when there are so many videos on it about “upgrade this”.
Shocks didn’t seem like a necessary investment.

I saw this one on a fb post, seems like it does fit, I just ordered it.

The HR heat sink for the scx24? They both have the 030 motor stock so it should fit.
Also a little brushed motor “run in” should help it last longer.
I want one so bad!

a “run in”?

a “run in”?
With a brushed motor, you can break them in. It is basically running it at a low throttle so the brushes wear in nice and smooth. Some people take the motor out, so it has no load on it, some people drop the thing in water and run it. These motors are so cheap that it is really overkill as they are disposable, I always give a little break in to my brushed motors, I don't go all out just driving the car first.
Look into it, if it's for you, great.
I see these guys buying the eco and injora motors for the micro's and they didn't even give the motor a fair chance by at least breaking it in softly. They just sent it! Of course it's going to burn up, it is just a run of the mill brushed 030 motor guy!

So I could run it at low speed (from the controller) but how long do I run it like that?

M'yeah about 3-5 minutes forward and reverse like 50% throttle. You could pull the spur gear off and do it that way.

I think I’ll try removing the motor and soaking it, what is the “mesh” situation for the motor on this car?
What do you guys think of this? It’s a 1/24 gyro.

I used to race 1/24 slot cars. We used these little Wasp motors, which were rebuildable. I would break the new brushes in by running the motor in water. It made the motors and brushes last longer. Noobs would come to the track all the time after building their first car, and a lot of them would be buying new brushes before the night was through because they didn't break them in. I learned right away from the vets to break the motors in. My brushes would last through 4 or 5 nights of hard racing, and the overall lifespan of the motor was better.

I did it and it sure was dirty, at first I didn’t put a piece of paper to adjust the mesh, the motor made a high pitch sound and it wouldn’t go in reverse. I fixed that and it worked like a charm.
