I know this is a bit off topic, but I'm hoping to get some insight. As most of you know I got hit while riding my atv last week. Now my wife wants me to get a helmet, and I agree. So I have one comming but question I have is....

Do I need a special pair of goggles? Or will a pair of ski/snowboard goggles do the same thing.

Thanks in advance,
Lost

If I'm not mistaken ski/snowboard goggles are pretty much the same as an ATV goggle. Have you checked local ATV stores to see what they've got?

Not yet, I've got some snowboard goggles that I'll end up trying. I've been working like a slave for the past week and a half so I haven't had a chance to go to the store yet.

Ski goggle's will work,I own oakley MX goggles and ski goggles and they don't make a differnce to me.

Yea, VB Those snowboard/ski goggles will work just fine. Just please wear your helmet bro. Can't stress this enough. Even on the short quick trips that you don't go far..wear the helmet. I'm not trying to :preachin: bro, just seen to many head injuries from not wearing a helmet. I had a harley and didn't want to do the helmet thing, but I'm glad I did.

Ill second that one,I'm one of those guy's who doesn't wear there helmet while riding on there property, and ill tell you what, after a couple good close call's riding a banshee,I'm starting to enjoy my helmet more and more, take nev's advice and always where your helmet.

I used to wear a turtle shell when riding my motorcycle. Then had a couple close calls and switched to a 3/4. Then after a particulary balmey summer evening I came home with a TON of cuts and bruises and bug guts all over my face, in my nose, in my mouth, and teeth from riding at 80Mph through a swarm of flying juicy things. Its was disgusting. So now I wear a full face no matter what.

I once had a bad crash on my mountain bike and cracked my giro helmet in 3 places. I basically landed on my head while still seated on the bike. I came down so hard that my left ear was tore down about 3/8 of and inch due to the helmet being jammed down my head. I was able to get up and ride out of where I was because I was wearing a helmet. I even kept the helmet as a trophy since it saved me from serious injury or worse.

To ride a bike, motorcycle or atv without a helmet is foolish IMO. In a split second you could be drinking your dinner through a straw for the rest of your life.
