a dawg said:the plug is shorter but i looked in the manual and it had the right part number. it wasn't a lot shorter but slightly. but i am going to go buy the right one now cause i am scared that it is not right. don't think any harm done so far though cause it was ran for maybe a minute on that plug.
HumboldtBlazer said:Yes, the 2.5 and 2.5R take a long plug such as a McCoy MC59, MC9. I have been using the new OS Long Reach LC3 Hot Plug which is the equilvelant to the MC59. Traxxas will always tell you that their black plug is better, it's BS but it is the right length. Maybe the Traxxas plug runs beeter somewhere else than where I live do to ambient settings ect. Anywas when you use a short plug you increase the distance between the top of the piston stroke and the element on the plug. This decreses performance but not by too much. You can use them, I chose not to.
